Multi-Domain SSL certificates allow a single certificate to secure multiple domains, including sub-domains of a single main domain name or entirely different domain names. This type is also commonly referred to as a UCC SSL (Unified Communications Certificate) or a SAN SSL (Subject Alternative Names). One of these can secure up to 250 unique domains with a single solution. They provide a convenient option for organizations that own many domains and are looking for a simplified way to secure them through a single solution rather than purchasing an individual certificate for each additional domain or host name. Multi-domain SSL certificates are available in Domain Validation (DV), Organization Validation (OV), and Extended Validation (EV) options. Unified Communication certificates work well with Microsoft Exchange server and Office communications server. UCC SSL Certificates will operate as a multi-domain SSL if the number of servers is more than three.

Domain Validated (DV) SSL certificates is the most basic and easiest to validate using a single step to verify the person or organization who owns the registered domain. To complete the validation, the domain owner must prove that they own the domain that was submitted with the order. The easiest and preferred method is completing the verification with email-based authentication. Using this preferred method, we will send an email to the WHOIS registrar email address asking you to verify that you purchased a DV certificate. Once you positively respond to our email, the requirement is considered satisfied and the certificate can be issued within minutes of a completed order.
